One of the definitions of prologue is “an introductory or preceding event” which was a suitable title for a library themed wedding rehearsal dinner. The inspiration for this project started with an amazing classic book collection owned by the groom’s grandmother. Classic and modern literature is a big part of this family and the books proved to be a beautiful backdrop to honor that passion.
The alternating stacks of books were accented with ribbon, gold spray painted roses and stems, a golden tray, specialty patterned paper and some modern candlesticks. Other displays included little signs with sayings like: “books are the mirrors of the soul”, “a new chapter unfolds”, “in the end we all become stories”, and “chapter 1”. Groom Spencer Thomakos sketched the beautiful artwork for the place cards and invitations, incorporating their love story. Live greenery adorned the welcome poster and the balloon clusters added some dimension to the large mirrors.
It was an inspiring project and I enjoyed working with the Thomakos family to create this meaningful rehearsal dinner at Third & Hollywood in Grandview, Ohio!
